  • Invisalign and root canal

I was wondering if I would still be able to get invisalign treatment, if I had a root canal. Also how old must you be to be eligible for this treatment.

    Thank you.

    Invisalign and root canal

    Thank you for your question.

Yes you can have Invisalign treatment after root canal treatment. You just have to make sure one: your root canal is of good standard second the final restoration on the tooth is completed (ie the core and crown).

This is because once you have had your aligners ordered, you cannot change them without additional costs. now if in the middle of the treatment your root canal fails or the tooth breaks down due to not having a crown placed on it, then the treatment with Invisalign not be completed and therefore a new set of aligners has to be ordered at additional cost.

To put is concisely, Ideally your teeth must always be clinically in a sound and stable condition without any outstanding dental treatment prior to start of Invisalign treatment.
