I have heard a rumour that there is a device that can do dental treatment without a drill. I have heard it is called drill-less dentistry. I have never liked having my teeth drilled and I heard about this and my ears pricked up. This would be the answer to all my dentistry problems if this is a real thing. Although it sounds a bit far fetched but I really am curios. If it is real then is it available at any dentist? Have to say I am hoping that this is available.

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
Drill-less dentistry is actually a reality. The system is known as air abrasion and micro-abrasion. A few dentists do offer this technology but it is not necessarily a common procedure at the moment. Drill-less dentistry can be used to remove minor tooth decay, stains, and discolouration. It is almost likened to a tiny sand blaster. Unfortunately, though, it will require some research to find a dentist that offers this. The best place to start is by asking your own dentist and looking on the internet. Alternatively, you may want to consider sedation so you are not aware of the drill being used on your teeth when you are receiving treatment.
