Well while I was muching on my breaktime snack that flammin attachment on my tooth pinged half way across the canteen but luckiy no one noticed or I would never have heard the end of it from my work pals. So what should I do about this now. Half tempted to just leave it and carry on wearing my aligner as normal until my next appointment. Its such a tiny piece, to me it just doesn’t seem like it could make that much difference to anything. So I guess what I am asking is is it ok to leave it off until next time?

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
The tooth attachments that are applied during Invisalign treatment are very important to the process. Without these attachments adhered in specific places, the clear aligners will not be able to move the teeth into the desired positions. Because these attachments are invaluable to the treatment it is not advisable to leave them off if you are wanting to make any progress. If you are only a few days from your next aligner upgrade, then it is perhaps not as important as it is if you have only just received your new aligner. My advice to you is to call your orthodontist or Invisalign dentist and explain the situation. It will not take long to reattach it so they may just ask you to pop by the clinic, so they can sort it out. Alternatively, it may be that they are happy for you to wait until your next appointment. Either way, it is a good idea to let them know so they are aware. Best of luck to you.
