My mother took me to see an ortho when I was 13. She did her best to encourage me to have a brace on and I kicked up such a fuss and caused so many arguments about it that she eventually gave up on the idea and stopped pushing it. Now at 26 I so regret nt having the brace. I know now why my mother was so encouraging of it because it would all be out of the way and id have nice straight teeth as an adult. That now brings me to the decision of whether to get an adult brace or not. I would like something that you cannot see however I imagine that’s wishful thinking isn’t it?

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
There are many adults that chose not to have a brace in their teenage years and are pursuing the option now instead. Many do worry about how it will impact on their lifestyle and especially how they look. Therefore, there is a range of adult options that are now available that are discreet. In addition, some options are practically invisible like you are hoping for. If you want to go for the most discreet option then there is a clear aligner, such as Invisalign. Invisalign is the leading brand in this field and is renowned for its great results. The clear aligner is removable and when it is clipped in the clear plastic is virtually unnoticeable. If you are interested in finding out more about this option, then you can book in for a consultation with a trusted Invisalign provider (details of these can be found on their website). You will be able to see an example of the device, as well as ask questions directly. Clear aligner treatment can be a much faster process than a fixed brace, so it really is a win win situation. Best of luck to you.
