My son wants to get Invisalign teen. Now I totally see the benefits because I wouldn’t want to wear a train track brace either. Times have changed and those hidoues braces from our past and well and truly where they belong (in the past). Jake can have free treatment on NHS but I have agreed to pay for the Invisalign instead, as long as he promises to wear it that is. This is my concern because it would be so easy to keep taking it out and I would never know. I am not paying my hard earned money out for him to blasely throw caution to the wind. I need some guarantees.

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
It is understandable that you would be apprehensive about your son having Invisalign Teen for the very reason that it can be removed. Thus, making it harder to monitor usage and ensure that it is being worn in the correct way and for the correct amount of time. The good thing about Invisalign Teen is that it has a built-in indicator that fades when worn. If the device is not being worn enough then you will know because the blue indicator will not be faded to the correct shade. Your son’s Invisalign provider will be able to show you what to look for, as well as them keeping a keen eye on the progress as well. Invisalign is a great way of straightening the teeth discreetly, however, if you do not think that your son is going to be disciplined enough to reap results then maybe a fixed brace is the way forward in this case. Best of luck to you.
