The last time I went to the dentist it was an awful experience. I Have never needed anything doing to my teeth up until that point so never knew what it was like to have your teeth drilled. Well I can tell you that I felt sick and scared and I would not want to have that experience ever again in my life. I think I preferred the time when I was having a camera down my throat that having that drill, and believe me that wasn’t pleasant either. It was only a filling but it felt like such a big deal to me. Do not know where the fear came from or why but I would like to request sedation next time if possible.

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
Having the dental drill for the first time as an adult can often be a difficult experience. Because you have not had this before as a child you have not had the opportunity to get used it, and you do not know what to expect. Therefore, it becomes a bigger issue. If you are feeling worried about your next treatment, then I see no reason why your dentist would not allow you to have sedation throughout. If this is something that is going to make you feel more comfortable then this can only be a good thing. Maybe in time you can have gentle experiences with the drill and start to build up more of a tolerance for it. It could be because you were unaware of what it felt like. Next time could be potentially easier. I would suggest you speak with your dentist and work out a plan of action for your next visit. Best of luck to you.
