I have tried laughing gas to relax me in the dentists chair and I have also tried an oral sedative but none of these seem to relax me enough. Its like they aren’t string enough for me. My anxiety is pretty bad and these sedation options help a bit but not enough so I have been avoiding going back since having the oral sedation. Could you recommend anything stringer for me that would help. I think I might need to be knocked out completely at this rate because nothing else is working at all. I so need to get this toothache looked at because its so painful. Its sad that I would rather put up with this terrible pain than go to the dentist. Feel in such a rut. To summarise I need a strong sedative in an emergency appointment. Am I asking too much?

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
You are certainly not asking too much here. There are clinics that offer emergency appointments under a dental sedative. These can be found by performing an internet search, asking your own clinic for advice, or by calling your local NHS line for more details of where these clinics are located and their contact numbers. Rest assured that many people suffer from dental fear and anxiety, so you are not alone. If you are needing a stronger sedative than laughing gas or oral sedation, then there is the option of an IV sedative. This is a strong and fast acting sedative that induces a strong dream-like state. It works fast because it is administered directly into the bloodstream. You are not unconscious, but the effects are strong enough for you to be relaxed and not remember the treatment afterward. It is imperative that you get your toothache looked at as soon as possible so that the problem can be treated before it gets worse. IV sedation should be the ideal solution to help you in these circumstances. Best of luck to you.
